Swami Vivekananda wanted that the youth of the nation to be involved in the activities of national service. It is to be considered one of the fundamental instruments to prosper a nation. He firmly said the duty of the pupils should not to treat their study as one of the opportunities for indulgence in intellectual luxury but to prepare them for final dedication in the service. In this context, the nation introduced National Service Scheme after independence in the educational institutions.
Panchthupi Haripada Gouribala College introduced the National Service Scheme (NSS) in the academic sessions of 2012-2013 to involve pupils in social work. The NSS Unit of the college engaging in several Regular Activities and Special Camping Programmes since 2012-2013. The volunteers of the NSS unit, Panchthupi Haripada Gouribala College, were involved in several activities in the pandemic situations in their localities. We met several times through online modes and took many a resolution against the mundane condition. We have resolved that the volunteers will actively take part the cope with the doom situation, and they have succeeded. For example, they played as ‘WARRIORS’ against Covid-19 in their villages and localities. Since our society is going through a pandemic, our sole duty is to play a substantial role against the murrain situation. Then we arranged and served some health consciousness materials to the residents to cope with a hard time at the locality where we are going through a doom condition.
